| | Spent my weekend with Hui Min (p.s.: thanks for the belated birthday present!). We were first went to the Bijour Bazaar but I didn't find any that I really liked. So after our lunch at Sushi Zanmai and some shopping, we took a visit to fish spa at Mid Valley. I learned about it some time ago when I watched the popular Taiwan variety show Guess regarding the "doctor fish". It was saying these fishes help exfoliate your feet and keep them healthy. I was really looking forward to try it when KL people have the hots for fish spa now.
Bumped into Suriya @ The Gardens A view from the shop The kid was very preoccupied with the "doc fish" These were our own tags. The tag number will appear on the screen when the time is up. The resting/waiting area

I believe that everyone was looking at us for the first 3 minutes because we were screaming and giggling aloud like siao zha bo. The fishes swam close when our foot get nearer to the pool, as though knowing there was "food". An uncle beside me laughed and persuaded us, "dare dare put in and don't look at those fishes." Out of my expectation, I was only swaying my feet in and out for 3 minutes and enjoyed the nibbling the rest of 27 minutes
Hui Min was more afraid of those fishes than me. She was having this pose for more than 10 minutes. More and more people tried to persuaded her, "just put your feet into the pool and don't look down", "don't think those are fishes, just imagine you are having a spa", etc. She gave up and went for the smallest fishes. Later she told me she was so regret to come here because those fishes were so scary.
I was told there are four sizes of fishes. So I tried all of them.
Hui Min refused to take the typical feet photo with me because she thinks her legs are very fat. So I took together with a girl who was also came for the first time. It is said that there will be more fishes on your right hand or right foot if you're a right-handed, because you use that hand more often so you'll have more dead skin on your right hand or right foot. Viewed from the photos I took, I had more fishes on my right foot lor and I'm right-handed. The feeling was pretty geli (ticklish) and tingling at the same time, but you would get used to it and enjoy the fish spa after a while. The small fishes bite will be "sap sap water" for you after you try the adult fishes. I couldn't take a clear photo at this because all the fishes were gone to an uncle who has hairy feet and the lady who took the feet photo with me. The giant fishes didn't like to bite my feet
There are rules for the giant fish:
"Strictly not suitable for those with: - Senstive skin - Unrecovered bruises and scars - Female & children"
I don't understand why it is not suitable for female. Honestly, it was the same feelings from all sizes of fishes except the smallest fishes. The two thick face ladies who were still unwilling to leave when the time was up and insisted to take more photos. The fish spa take 30 minutes and costs RM 38. They even offer fish spa package where it costs RM 300 for 10 sessions and valid for a year (I knew it because the girl was trying to persuaded us to sign for this pacakge). There are other services apart from fish spa, such as whole body spa, food massage, etc. They also serve snacks and beverages. There is another branch at Pavilion, KL which is near the GSC cinemas.
Unfortunately, I felt no difference after the spa NONE. AT. ALL. I wasn't really upset because I knew I just tried it for fun. I would say, if you really want to get kill off all the dead skin on your feet, you should go for peduicure.
